There was a time in my life that Books were just my only good and best friends and I notice that time I did never fail in my life... Books are the best friend and would never fail you but keep you on top of success and happiness in your life.. they are the only reliable and trustful friends of mine...
What is your idea about that?

That very true. Books really are our good friends. Atleast better than humans. They teach us alot and doesn't expect anything in return. I hardly have friends. I am just busy reading books whole day. When I had no one to trust in my life I started reading books, they helped alot.

i love books and i've read lots of them. i gain a lot from reading. i improve my language and i learn a lot of things. however, i cannot go far and say they are my best friends. i still love to have someone who will interact with me. someone who will turn to me for advise/help and whom i can turn to in times of my need. someone who will share life's joys and sorrows with me.

Yes, I agree to your view to a certain extent. Books are good friends and there was a time I used to be much selective and read a lot of books from my choice. However, these days, I don't read much due to time constraints and if required anything as such, I will get it from the net and would read. I prefer to read from my own language which I will get a deep understanding of the essence of what is written and I can enjoy them the most with out losing what the writer means.
I used to read famous novels, and well known writers works also. Books are really good friends, no doubt. But I cannot compare a good friend with any of these books. I think I am a blessed person with a handfull of good friends and I really experienced the value of friends in my life and I never forget them ever ever as they played such a touching roles in my life.
To be frank, I don't have a good friend so close to me for years and within the last 7-8 months, I virtually cried when though of the lack of a good friend. All were gone here and there and totally isolated. In most times I used to think the friends around here all are not really friends they will smile so nicely and behave best in its way, but not friends. If someone as me name the best 5 friends, I will stop after 3, because, I don't have more friends more than that.
Anyway, as I used to write, I will write everything, just like talking to a friend and that may be the reason why I never feel happy what I have written yeasterday and keep changing depend on my mood.

thanks for sharing...I always remember my father library and those valuable books of him.. nothing was beautiful than seeing him reading a book for me in my childhood... his book were all his close friends and for that I also learn and became close to books and I enjoy with novels and I have written a novel before but I did not publish cause I was just 16 that time and did not have money for it... and I hide that from my family.... well... having a real good friends is so great and pleasure in our life.. but these days really finding good friend is not that easy so I prefer to be alone or just be busy by books and net.. I am happy in the way that I choose God as my best friends and his book and other books are the next after him..

Hi,
So nice of you!
I know that good books have a great power to influence people differently. Even I used keep some of my favourite books with me and kept for so long time and finally when I left the village, I donated all books to the near by village library. When you talked about your dad and books, I just remembered some English movie (name not remembering) such a scene is typically same as your real life experience.
It is a real sad truth that most of the people don't have a 'good' friend, as the value is deteriorating for the good friend, mainly because everyone is so involved in their own life with lavish and aboundance. There are so many reasons also for the same and as you said, people prefer to be for themselves and looking for their time to spend with net etc. as their preferred hobby.

hm, people these days are too busy with their life.. financial problems , work.. and so many other things.. technology has made us far from the main reason of why we went through technology.. we forget the base of reason...
human being dreamed fot technology FOR Better and Happier life... For More time with family and for More Love... but when they start their journey they get that much busy that they forget their main purpose.... they are now depressed and feel what life is! why we born?!
but it is a good start.... the question will bring them the answer and will remind them about what they forget in their journey...

Your comparison of books with friends is apt. As there are good friends and bad friends, there are good books as well as bad books. [I amn't a person reading a lot.] In my college days some books with negative/strange thoughts/interests have affected me badly. I hope you are selective to books that bring positive affects/thoughts in life such as peace, pleasantness, self confidence, power of imagination etc.

I have mentioned the books as best friends.. of course on my choice i am not going to choose bad ones as my best friend... so i am talking about good books, which guide you to be better and more human beings... like good friends who can make your success and bad ones our fails in the life.. books also are the same if we choose bad ones... but whatever books i read all were good...

I like reading books. Learning from different writers really is enriching. It helped me developed right attitude and perspective. But I like also listening to people's experiences. These are real experiences which may not be written down but also would be helpful. Then I can ask questions, clarification and possibly gain a friend.

I also think that books are the best friend one can have and with more reading one will get more and more knowledge. I used to read a lot when I was young and love reading and would take books from the library. I think I should try to start reading once again.
