..confusion while choosing gifts?

Hey guys, recently i was supposed to visit my office rent owner son's birthday party and hence my boss had called all of us to be a part of that party.
I wanted to give a surprise gift to that 11 year kid and hence i left for shopping in the evening, just hours before moving to his place for the party. On reaching a mall, i went into the gifts section and the moment i entered into that section, i got so confused as to what to gift that kid, i spent nearly an hour to choose a gift for him. I wanted to give something useful and at the same time something within my pockets.
I kept on moving from one gift to another and it was really taxing for my body and mind at that time. Finally after getting frustrated, i decided to get a coffee mug that had attractive designs on it. It was looking cute and had a reasonable price, and since my boss would be giving a gift from our office's behalf, i decided not to spend for his b'day.
What r your thoughts on this? Have u ever faced confusion while selecting gifts for anyone like i had? Please do share your thoughts!

Yes. Sometimes it is very confusing. It feels like everything are good and should be taken. But, still we have to choose anyone and after coming home again we thought that the other which we didn't buy was better. It just.. because we are human with desires.

He he he, yes you are absolutely right, human needs and desires r unlimited and hence no matter even if we select the best gift for someone, still there is a desire if we had got another gift instead of the one we got for them.
But then we avoid getting into such situations otherwise we would never be able to get any gifts.

I find it difficult to buy gifts to people whom I think would never appreciate anything that is given to them. But I like giving out personalized items. I feel that it makes them recipient a lot special.

Yes u are absolutely right, there r certain people who like to find faults even if they r given gifts with affection and love. They just cannot digest the fact that someone is giving them anything. But as u have mentioned, if u give anyone personalized items then not only it would be useful for them but they would be thankful to the recipient for giving them such a gift.
