My husband asked me to cook something tomorrow because it's been a month when my FIL in law had his heart bypass. I am planning to cook some pasta, bake a cake and make a fruit salad. Were going to celebrate his first month heart bypass anniversary which give him a new life. I am glad we passed the first month without any complications and infections due to proper care. I am praying for his fast recovery and hoping that we will never encounter any health problems.

It is good to see your dad recovering well and he will be happy that you have such a heart to celebrate for him. I wish him speedy recovery too

What a great reason to celebrate. My mother had gone through her heart bypass just fine, but ended up with gang green in her leg where they had taken the veins out for her heart, and ended up back in the hospital longer then when she was in there for her heart.

Good for you and your family, especially your FIL. I believe that with or without an operation, everyday should be a celebration of another chance to life. Of course in your FIL's case, it is an exceptionally and extra special celebration. I hope that he continues to have a full recovery.

after-care is really important, like making sure medication is available and taken on time, being fed the right food, have enough sleep and minimal stress, someone talking to them, assisting them, making sure they are clean and their position is comfortable, not too hot, not too cold. it makes a big difference in a patient's recovery.
