I have been to Singapore three times and to Hong Kong once. It has been three times that I have stopped off at LA in America. I wish that I had been to Bangkok. In my younger days my mum thought Thailand was dangerous. I was 20 to 21 years old when I traveled around the world. I have to stick to beginner destinations. Everyone should visit South America at least once in a life time. Now I have been there twice. Which stopovers would you like to do? Are you keen to visit anywhere in glorious South America in your lifetime?

I would like to stop in Hong Kong and Singapore one day. I have doen Bangkok and stayed for a few nights on more than one occasion when I was on my way to Phuket and I have also done Doha on the way back from Thailand which was interesting.

Hello Frankie. I know that you have a fantastic chance of going to Hong Kong and Singapore since you work in the travel industry. Doha must have been exciting on your way back from Bangkok.

It really was good especially as back then when we did it, Doha was hardly known and now it will be big with the world cup being hosted there and other events getting held there!

I do not know whether I can afford to visit South America, let alone anywhere else in the world, but if I did, I would like to go to Brazil and to Rio de Janerio.

I was watching a show where the Suger Loaf Mountain was a part of the scenery. It was one of those 1930 or 1940 shows. And I also saw that cog rail in a James Bond film and would like to see it in person. Guess I have to be a miser to save enough to see it.

Going to Rio was a very exciting and delightful part of our trip to South America. I loved going up Sugar Loaf Mountain and it was the ideal time of the day being less busy. We found the cog rail route up to see the statue of Christ very busy indeed. It took two hours of waiting to get on it. Good luck with getting more money in the future.

South America has never appealed to me my friend, probably because of the kind of climate they have, the length it takes to get to by train, and all the horrid reptiles and bugs you get over there. I have never been outside our continent to be truthful. I did once consider going to New Zealand, but I didn't fancy the flight, or the stopovers, so I never gave it a second thought afterwards. There's still a lot of Europe that I have yet to discover.

Hello Wolfie. I am back to see more of Europe very soon: the Ukraine and Moldova. I love seeing attractive looking buildings and interesting cities. I hope that you will visit Sweden because I believe it would appeal to you greatly. Norway has some scenery similar to New Zealand but it doesn't have the same wildlife. Maybe you could visit Norway and Sweden. It was autumn when we went to South America's southern places. Yes, it is hot all year round in Colombia. I saw more bugs in Australia.

Last year we started our trip in Bangkok. Next time I would like to start in Singapore. I have never been there so I think that it would be nice to spend some time there before I continue to Malaysia and Indonesia. It could also be interesting to do a stopover in Brunei because I have never been there either. When I visit Taiwan I would like to do a stopover in Hong Kong. In South America I would like to visit Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil. I am especially interested in Peru because I would like to visit Machu Picchu, but I am sure that the other countries are interesting as well. My husband is especially interested in Brazil. It is one of his childhood dreams to visit Brazil so of course we would include Brazil in our itinerary.

I loved it in Brazil and felt very excited there with all that sightseeing. It is a very large country and we only saw a small part of it. I understand why you wish to visit Peru and I feel very similar. However I worry about taking my son to a high altitude with his hydrocephalus. I have heard Brunei is very interesting and its national airline has some tempting routes. You would love it in Singapore with its fascinating sights. I am glad you wish to stop off in Taiwan before visiting China. That would be a lovely combination.

Hey there maximax8! :) Wow, I wished I was an avid traveler like you but life is so busy and hectic right now! I got to focus on my studies in college but I always, always dream of travelling the world. One question though, does it cost a lot of money to be travelling so often? I have been to Bangkok once, it was a pleasant trip and not quite dangerous. You have to be aware of scams that prey on travelers though. There was this once when a nice-looking Thai lady came up to me and asked me where was I headed. I told her I wanted to visit a popular tourist attraction. She then stopped a "tuk-tuk" (the traditional cabs of Thailand) and told the driver something. She then said that the driver will take me to where I want to go, so I happily went in. But turns out, I was driven to a building selling branded items. How disappointing! Hmmm, since I'm here in Malaysia, rarely do word of South America reach here. We hear more about the beauties of South Korea, the sakuras in Japan and Gold Coast in Australia. Would mind telling me the specialties of South America? I would be glad to know from you. :) Haha, meeting with an avid traveler like yourself really lights up my dream to travel the world and see different cultures! Oh, and if you do have the chance, come to Kuala Lumpur! Our multi-cultural lifestyles and great, mouth-watering food will be something worth travelling for!:)

Hello there. Thanks for your excellent response to my discussion. From Singapore my first time I traveled down to Sumatra, up that island and then over to Malaysia. I liked it in KL. It is such a pity that you had a scam in Bangkok. You had in mind visiting the tourist attraction. Yet you found yourself at a place she wanted you to buy stuff. Argentina's capital city has interesting sights and it is a fashionable sort of place. I must say that I preferred Chile's capital city with its gorgeous looking buildings and mountain viewpoint. A highlight was Iguassu Falls and bird park over the Brazilian side. I loved seeing Rio in Brazil with Sugar Loaf Mountain and the mountain with the statue of Christ.
