Hello Lotters,
I have watched through Youtube over these abuse or anger management problems of the consul people in the Government. probably because of too much stressed at work and so many OFW's wanting to get their papers done with lack of personnel.
In this case, the consul had volunteers instead of hired staff to do some paper works and other duties.
The incident ignited when a OFW was asked to donate to the Red Cross but some assume this OFW joked about donating a dollar. with that, some how the Consul went mad. later he apologize for his actions, citing that he was very tired and the OFW provoked him.
Some OFW's were citing HE WAS DRUNK , this wasn't the first time it happened.
Maybe he should relax. or maybe the Government should hire OFW experienced Diplomat

I have seen this news on TV and this was further discussed by Anthony Tavernas. In fact a client also, told the real story of what happened.
The man was an arrogant one. He even cursed the consul, causing the consul to get angry.
Though the man doesn't have the right to do that, the consul should have controlled himself. His job being the consul, should always be done in an appropriate manner and losing your temper isn't it should be.

Hello Simplyd, I think that man should have been chased by the media and have his side so that it can get cleared things up. they were some people who defended this man and told that he personally helped them regarding their renewal of passport. such a sad moment that when he went berserk, some stupid ofw just had to take the moment and record the whole rage. they're human, can't expect them to tolerate all the time

I like that part "they're human, can't expect them to tolerate all the time" . And specially when one is already maligning you.

He is now a youtube celebrity. I think he will experience much more worst ridicule than Amalayer. Something I learned in life is to stay chill as possible. Getting mad and breaking down never do me good. Patience and self control is something people must have. When I am in my boiling point, I just drink a glass of water now and its calming me.

Hello CaptainAlbert, I think that amalayer was more popular than this guy, i feel sad that despite of his hardwork in the past, now he gets to be on the spot. i think he can do good but have bad moments too. some OFW said he's relentless and shouts at OFW's but some defended him to be efficient

I have seen this one as well and has heard the response of the consul in Ontario. I feel both parties are at fault in here since there was an eyewitness who seemed to support the consul saying that the consul had reacted only on the remarks of the citizen accusing him of pocketing the money he gave and saying bad word as well to the consul. But of course I guess the consul could have acted calmly than acting arrogantly as well. I think the consul has other cases like working drunk but that is another case he has to face.
As the TV commentator has said it he did not act like what a diplomat should be.

Hello Rsa101, He's been doing his best but he's no robot to keep maintaining the role of the consul. in fact, if you can check the US consul, it's a lot worse than the Phil ones. though i think it wasn't right for him to go off like, he's still human and has mistakes too, there was a lot of people who need more services. but with this reaction i think the person needs to retire.

Too bad it got caught on video and pretty soon enough it has caught the attention of the cyber world. Pretty much like the "Amalayer" video that haunted the poor girl for sometime.
Well I guess in time this guy will have to retire since he said that he has served the government for 41 years already.

In the news early this morning , the consul explained that the OFW cursed provoking the consul. If I were the consul, I punched him in the face that instance. I would not let anyone disrespect me. His doing an honest job, even doing paper works just to help facilitate their papers. Then that kind of treatment he received from that guy. That guy is just making flame so that people will visit his blog.

Hello BannedHelsing, actually, that's what the witness told the media radio host when he got interviewed to air his side. I think some OFW's are totally jerks too base on this incident that they want to solely put the blame on the government official. of course, there are most instances that the government official abroad is at fault but in this cause this person who showed disrespect was at fault too

From the TV interview, I guess the consul was indeed provoked when the individual said that why should he donate a dollar to the Red Cross when the money would simply go to the pockets of the consul. However, being a consul requires maximum patience as their job includes meeting and talking to all sorts of people. On the other hand, the video perhaps did not catch the whole episode to allow us the whole details. With social media, a video can go viral in a few minutes so government officials should better watch out with their attitudes. Anyone who has ill feeling might simply catch them off guard with an Android phone and within a few minutes their reputation goes down the drains.

Hello Yahnee, Seeing his white hair and lack of patience because some testimonies said he recently had a heart bypass operation. another testimony from Alex Baros proved that this OFW started it first and even rallied others telling them not to donate because he thinks those donations will simply go to his pocket. in my recommendation, he should just retire and live a simplier life.
