I just saw from Yahoo that Multiply is shutting down and will cease its operations effective May 31 of this year. However, it will maintain normal operations until May 6 and will use the rest of the month to settle all transactions and payments and ensure that the members who availed of the premium membership are properly refunded. Further, it will also give its sellers an ample time to seek other e-commerce hubs. If you remember last December, Multiply also shifted its blog platform into an online market site as part of "reinventing" the company. Since there are a lot of sites available today, sadly, Multiply can no longer keep up with the challenge. I even remembered back in college how popular Multiply was. If you don't have an account in the said site, you'll surely be left behind. It became a venue for everyone to post anything they want - pictures, videos, songs, and even thoughts on how your day went. I even shop in through Multiply since it's very convenient. Multiply definitely became a part of young generations' lives and sadly, it has come to an end, just like the other sites such as Friendster. I would like to hear your thoughts on this myLotters :)

Hi Ayeeesha! I'm a Multiply user and fan for more than 5 years now. I've used before to post photos and announcement as it gives a chance for one-liner shout-outs. Moreover, since I stay home very often, Multiply has been my outside link in shopping. I shop there almost everything! Really, really sad... I can't think of the reason why they're shutting it down... Too bad... Must find another site.. But I can't let go! I still have the "M" bookmarked in my pc...

Apparently, they can't keep up with the competition. Multiply used to be a haven for a lot of online shoppers but since there are a lot of sites that are similar to Multiply and has better platform, their users and site visitors are decreasing.
