Is there an acceptable age to be a virgin?

I'll try keep this short but i'm 23 and a virgin, to me it feels like i should have lost it years ago but I just never got round to it. I have made a deal with myself that no matter what I will lose it this year, just can't take it anymore. What are your thoughts on this, is there an age that you think people should lose it? I know the obvious answer would be that the perfect would be when the person is ready....but then again with guys we could pretty much lose it as soon as possible. I know this can be very different with girls though.

Hi ! like you worry more because up to now you are still virgin ! I guess you don't need to worry instead be proud that you are ! You keep your standard high and that is very admirable. Age is not a basis for longevity of Virginity but it is of moral standard. Most people give in this thing because of pressure but if you have high regard of it , you'll never be carried by those pressure but will stand by it and will be given to the man whom she will marry only.

No reason to rush things, like when you say "no matter what, I'm losing it this year". Like most things in life, if you obsess over it, it will never live up to your expectation. If you just relax and let it happen, it will be better.

Well, it is your decision to remain virgin. But I think you already know how it taste, perhaps you once did it yourself. Am I right?

It was a couple of years ago anyway but now I don't want to be anymore and surprisingly I have not done anything like that before, even to myself.

You can be a virgin as long as you like. I think that for guys and girls, it is better if their first time is with someone they are in a relationship with, someone special. The only danger I have had with virgins is that they can be come judgmental of some of us non-virgins...at that point, I wish they would just get laid.

I know that I definitely do not judge non-virgins, any virgins that do that are simply just jealous and probably don't deserve to get laid.

As the whole issue of virginity is a no-brainer, I'm wondering why you are looking at it as negative, rather than as a positive condition. In the end,( even for the Female gender,) virginity means less than whether or not she has a drivers license. Who cares? (Your church will accuse you of adultery, and charge you for your sins) Relax, enjoy life, and let the rest of the world go by!

I'm looking at both sides of it, especially after everything people here have said and I also i'm not a religious person so I'm not afraid of that side of it.

Oh well,I never knew if there is a certain or specific age regarding this matter. (lol) This depends on individual thinking, opinion and morality.

I don't know why that being a virgin should be a big deal with men at such age. It doesn't mean that when I guy reaches his 20's that he SHOULD lose it, right? If there was a choice, it is because you are waiting for the right time with the right person and not just wanting to gt laid on any woman who might just want to jump on you.

There is no right age to lose your virginity. I know society puts more pressure on males to lose it, but times are changing and male virgins aren't viewed the same anymore...to make this short... do it when you want and no rush!

I didn't really realise that male virgins were getting more common but yeah I haven't rushed at all :)

Hey don't worry dude, You should be proud yourself and you should maintain your standard, I am 24 and still vigin and i am happy and feel proud in my self, there is no certain age to lose it but i think that minimum age should be 16 if you are ready to lose it

I think 16 is still pushing it. I would say 17 myself but yeah I just know i'm ready, I won't force it to happen though.

I think that there's no specific age in losing your virginity. It really depends on yourself and the values on which you grew up in. There are different cultures and on our country virginity is valuable during my time. When I was still a teenager, at that time virginity is really valuable and as a catholic. It was taught that you should only lose it on your wedding night. I guess that principle doesn't apply now on this age. It should not impose any pressure on you. You'll feel if it's the right time with the right person as well.
