Uncertain times ahead

We are going to be moving to our friend's house soon from our apartment. Our neighbors are becoming unbearable and our landlord is not doing anything to help the situation. But we have to resort to renting two rooms and keeping most of our living room furniture and kitchen things in storage in the garage. That doesn't bother me as much as the last minute decision on my partner's part (male). Our daughter is looking forward to moving over there, but I saw the rooms and the they are smaller than what we have now. I also need to transfer over the directtv and internet soon. We have known him for years so I am not worried about that, it is probably the whole change thing and the hassle of packing, moving, etc. But it would be cheaper for us and then we can move to Arizona as planned in two years. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What did you do to make the transition as smooth as possible?

Sorry to hear you need to move. I agree with the last poster, as moving can be good. I know when we moved here its been a lot better, as its safer and we have great neighbors, who are friendly. There is no more loud music or parties at all hours. One thing I'm suggesting label all the boxes, so later you know what is in them. It takes a long time to go through the boxes, as I'm still not done yet. We moved the end of 2010 and most of the boxes are done. If the box is fragile, then make sure nothing heavy is set on top of the boxes. I know most of us don't want to replace our dishes after a move. I used newspaper to pack my dishes. Good luck
