I don't keep my phone below my pillow while sleeping. I keep it in the open drawer of my nightstand next to my bed. My old phone I slept with beneath my pillow because if I didn't one of my sister's was just way to vindicative for her own good. She thought it was funny to steal my phone and type nasty texts to people break up with my boyfriend, try to get it on with some random friend of mine that I really hadn't talked to in years. I got so fed up with it that I slept with the phone under my pillow to protect it. But, when I got a smartphone I wasn't living with my Mom anymore and therefore didn't have to deal with my sister and her angsty ways. I didn't think much of sleeping with a smartphone under my pillow, I just didn't do it. One night at 2 in the morning I was jarred awake by my phone ringing. I looked at it and it was my boyfriend. Thinking it was some dire emergancy I hurried to call him back. Half asleep he angrily told me it was 2 in the morning and he was sleeping. The next day he had no memory of this but figured that his phone must of called me on it's own because he slept with it under his pillow. Now he sleeps with it nearby like I do. Don't want the smartphone calling people in the middle of the night, do we?

No, I don't do this because it might shatter and ruin my phone plus when it gets broken it might injure my head. I just keep my phone on the drawer by my side table. My family and husband doesn't tinker with my phone and if they want to see it, they ask my permission. We respect each others' privacy. Even my husband doesn't go through my phone, and I give him the same courtesy.

I don't mind any of my family or friends answering my phone! I don't have anything I need to keep from them! As a matter of fact, it does me a favor if they answer it for me, because 75% of my calls are business anyway, and it helps me out when I'm busy!
My ex-wife answers it, my sons and daughters answer it, my grandkids answer it, my dad answers it, even my band members answer it! I don't have any secrets, I'm up front with everything I do! I answer it when I am not busy!
Usually when I am sleeping, I need to answer calls, so I leave it on! Very rarely is there ever a time, that I have to get some sleep, then I put it on 'silent', so they can leave me a message!
Also, there are some occasions where I don't want to be bothered in answering a phone, like a meeting or a conversation, or a project I'm working on, so I just leave it somewhere, or put it on 'silent' where I won't be bothered!

No,I don't hide my phone anywhere.
My phone is open to anybody in our house.
My kids can even use it or answer any of my calls or even respond to text messages in case I am too busy with other things.

You can lock your keypad if there is such a function in your hand phone so that no one can have access to it. To put that below your pillow when you sleep is not good for your health because of the radiation. It is not worthwhile to take the health risk for an electronic gadget. As for your family members, why don't you tell them NOT to read your mails without permission?

I don't put my phone under my pillow. First of all, I don't want to constantly be surrounded by radiation. Also, I don't think that it's right for me to leave it under my pillow. I think that there should be a separate time for sleeping, texting or calling.

No, I would never keep a mobile phone in the bedroom at night, let alone under the pillow as they radiate an electrical field. It may not be absolutely proved, but I would never take chances. I don't have any phones in the bedroom at all. My landline has an answer machine built in, and if it is important in the middle of the night, then the caller would leave a message. For me, being in bed is for sleeping and nothing else. If I am disturbed it isn't good for my health and stress levels. If I am not asleep and don't feel tired, then I am never in bed. I sleep about 5-6 hours a night and that is sufficient. I am then available to anybody who wants to call me. _Derek

Just yesterday there was a discussion on one of our tv channels here about the hazards of mobile stations near houses and also continuous use of cell phones. It goes without saying that it is dangerous to keep the mobile under one's pillow.

Well, just like you, I also put my phone under my pillow but when my husband is at home, there's no point of keeping it tucked under the pillow for he's my only constant textmate

Yeah, we have the same habit. Like you, I want also that my cellphone is just under my pillow and it is very reachable every time my cellphone's alarmed or there is an emergency call. But, I read one precaution about our mobile. It said that it is not advisable to let and put our mobile phones near our ear as it absorb a million radiations that will go through our brain. It should always be in distance when we are about to sleep and don't take it as a habit to put it under our pillow.
