Sweet potato also called Kamote in Philippines is a good source of fiber. This is my favorite snack or food whether it is cooked boiled or by caramel of sugar.Yes indeed this is a good source for iron too.I manage now not to eat more rice and we can replace sweet potato in our diet.Actually when we eat sweet potato we can observed ourselves that we keep on farting because sweet potato is a gaseous foods same with cauliferous foods.

I have heard of the good health benefits of sweet potato from a friend. They were at Pangasinan the other week to do an ocular at a potato farm in there. I think they are going to check on the farm as they are helping those people in the packaging of sweet potato so they can be exported. He said he actually know someone who eat sweet potato as substitute for rice. This person happens to have undergo a heart bypass operation and eating sweet potato eversince.

Hi dorisday1971, I do read articles saying sweet potato is very good to our health. And haven't heard that one would be skinny eating it as staple food. the staple food is rice. To make this daily staple food rather different we like to have potato or sweet potato or tapioca thick slices added to it. All of them are delicious as well as nutritious that good to our health. I feel reluctant to eat too much sweet potato to look too skinny
Have a nice day and happy posting!

I think also read it on Yahoo! News! A friend of mine tried it and it's quite effects. Sweet potato is a root-crops, rich in fiber and it makes you feel full. I haven't tried it, because it is a gas-forming foods. It keeps me farting.

This is effective as I have tried it myself. Although, there will come a point that you'll get fed up of eating the same thing over and over again but you'll soon get used to it after some time.

Wow! Then I should start eating them now! But I really love eating the violet sweet potato. It tastes better. But most of the time I add butter and sugar and mash them all together. So, I don't think that would help in losing my weight.

Thanks for sharing this information Doris. Perhaps I have to consider including this in my diet. I hope I can manage to replace rice with sweet potato. I am getting bigger each day.
Have a wonderful day!
