My husband got delayed by a turkey

My husband had to leave early this morning to pick up a delivery that went to somewhere in the Chicago area. Anyway, while he was driving through Indiana, out of nowhere, a turkey runs out into the road and crashes into his windshield. It totally destroyed his windshield, and from what he told me, glass was everywhere. He wasn't hurt, although he did delay him for most of the day.
He was finally able get on his way not that long ago. The company he works for had another one of their drivers come out and swap his delivery with my husband's. It was going to the same location, just a day later. My husband told me this guy was not too happy about this. I guess this guy does weekends, and today was suppose to be his day off. I don't blame him for not being happy. I just hope he got compensated in someway. However, you never know with this company. Sometimes they surprise you, and sometimes they frustrate the pants off ya.

Actually, I didn't mention it. The turkey survived the ordeal. Shoot, that could have been our meal at Thanksgiving. lol

Unfortunately I don't know even a single word in that particular Turkey language. If I did, I might be able to find out how turkeys all over the world propose to celebrate the achievement of this particular hero of their species.
In case you haven't heard any variety of it yet, you might like to visit http://www.ebaumsworld.com/jokes/read/81202574/ .

On second thoughts any Turkey language I knew might turn out to be gobbledygook.

Admittedly, this story struck me as funny, but I would hope that the company compensated your husband, too.
Maybe turkeys and other farm animals are common in that area that's why your husband's officemate wasn't too happy about going through there, either. Heheh.

Actually, the other driver wasn't happy because today was suppose to be his day off. He wasn't suppose to leave for his delivery for a while yet. Maybe sometime tonight, or something.

Well, it is good and fortunate that your husband is not hurt .
Even though the driver was not happy but it is not your husband's fault. If he is a good employee, he should think for the company and sacrifies his off day after all it is not done deliberately but it is an unforseen circumstances.
I believe the Company should compensate him either another off day or in terms of monetary form. If the company takes care of the employee, the employee will also do to help the Company in whatever manner they could !

Well, that guys should bear in mind that it was not your husbands' decision to do it, it happened because of that turkey incident of which no one should be blamed of. I just hoped that he will open his mind and heart with that kind of situation.

Well if he render extra hours , then he is entitled to an extra pay. And if it's his day-off, then that would be holiday overtime pay. That would only be valid if you work here, I don't know in your place.

The turkey's owener should be taken care of it carefully. Fortunately, your husband is not hurt from that. I hope they can get some compensations from their company for this mess.
