cancelling a permanent resident status in Canada,possible?

my brother has been approved with a permanent visa status in Canada by his wife. he went home here in Philippines to attended a funeral and booked a ticket back to Canada. He is for 5 months already. he had conflict with the wife and she said he cannot go back anymore since she cancelled his visa and sponsorship status. Is it even possible to just cancel at the shortest time without my brother's permission and knowledge? thank u very much for commnets.
