hi, Venice is the world's only pedestrian city. As there are no cars here, walking becomes a pleasant experience. Venice consists of 118 bodies of land. these islands have more than 177 canals. These canals are connected by more than 400 bridges. Have you ever visited Venice?

During our Europe package holiday we spent a few days in Italy including Venice. To go to our hotel we had to go by the water bus. We were taken round and I particularly liked the St. Marks Square where one could feed pigeons. They would sit on our shoulders and eat the feed from our hand. I liked our visit to the Glass Factory where we were shown how glass figurines and stuff was made. I did not go by the gondola as I found the water not clean. The sun set there around 8 in the evening the time we were there.

I 1999 I was living in Ravenna in Italy and during that time my friends and I visited Venice twice. Our first visit took place during the Carnival. There were a lot of people and it was hard to see everything and hard to take pictures, but I am very happy that we chose to visit Venice during the carnival because it was interesting to see the carnival in person. The costumes were very beautiful. Our second visit took place some months later. It was a normal weekend and there weren't that many people so it was easier to walk around. We got lost several times because we only had a very bad map, but we had a lot of fun.

I've been there twice. Once with my parents when I was about 12, I liked it but can't remember everything. Next time was 10 years later, I went interrailing with a Scottish friend. She's afraid of water and pigeons so Venice proved quite a challenge :-) I liked it but for some reason I remember more about the youth hostel and the problems we had with the language than what we actually saw. The same for Florence and Rome, we had interrail tickets so we travelled to Italy, Prague and Budapest. Liked Prague the best, love to go back. Didn't like Budapest that much.

When I was about 15 years old we were on vacation in Kärnten, and decided to go visit Venice in Italy. So we set off in our car to go there, stopping frequently at the fleemarkets in the middle of nowhere to eat the wonderful Italien gelato. We were about 3/4 there when it started raining or better said pouring so much, that the streets were so full of water that people would drive on the sidewalk. So we decided to better go back. This way I have been almost there. It must be a beautiful place. If you go to places with a lot of ancient history you can feel the sentiments of all those people who once lived there and you start to think about how they felt and what they did and what they must have looked like. No photo can give you that feeling. It is sort of like listening to a concert on the radio or actually go there. The experience is quite different.-

I have never been to Venice and likely won't (unless it exists in the world to come prophesied by Jesus and the Bible!) But it sure looks like an enjoyable and romantic place!

Yes, last year we went there before going back home to the Philippines. We celebrated my mom's birthday there for a day and also tried the gondola. It was really a pretty place. I felt like I was inside one of the romantic books/magazines/movies that featured it. I hope to be able to visit there again.
