I work as a secretary at an office for about two years now, and till recent I really did not care about this, but now it kind a bothers me and a bit annoys.
There is this person who comes to work three or four hours later than others, then she thinks that her duty is to go around the office and chat with everyone, invite to a coffee to chat more, and actualy it is less of a conversation with her, and more of a monologue of her telling how she cleans the house, how she feeds her dog, how she goes to market etc. Then there are the photos - hundreds of photos from which maybe twenty is slightly interesting, and behide every photo is a story about it. After an hour (or more) listening to her stories, she starts working, and for almost rest of the day should end soon, but that is not it. After an hour of 'working'she love to come to me and complaint about how much work she has, that she has not got time to do, and she will have to stay in late.
Out of respect for her (cause she is much more older than me) I can not just tell her to stop talking so much and come to work earlier and then maybe she would do more work and did not need to stay at work late.
What are your advices on how without being rude I can tell her that she is diturbing everybody elses work and most of all, wasting her own working time and free time?

ha ha ha, well you know what, u will find the same kind of people in every office who come to office very late and ends up messing up everyone's work and their own also. In fact they need to be made realized that they r wasting the crucial time of the organization that could have been used fruitfully. I think without thinking much u can talk to her politely and tell her about her harsh realities.
