Population of mylot

I'm going to be very curious as to how many people stick with mylot and how many leave. Right now the population is 251,569 and that is a huge amount of people on one site. I've written down the number and am going to see what amount it goes down to. I personally think they are making a mistake and maybe after all these years can't afford to pay members any longer....who knows and we'll probably never know. They say it's because people have asked for certain things on the site but not exactly what that is. I can bet nobody asked that they stop paying for our participation. I'm probably going to leave to spend more time on other sites that I've spent less time on to be able to spend time on mylot. What are you planning on doing?

I am going to stick around to see what the new improved version is going to be. I also will be spending my time where I can make money. This used to be my basic work for the day but now I will visit occasionally and see what old friends are up to. I will be curious to see how many stick around. I am not happy with this change and feel that Mylot has really let me down. I won't be in its corner as I used to be because I feel cheated.

Well, please PM me and give me your person email address so we can keep in touch. I may have some sites that might help you out too.

Hatley, I think MyLot should pay you a monthly 'wage' as a courtesy to you and your fans. If anyone deserves to carry on being paid it's you. Why do think I come here every day? To read what you say. You're an inspiration and a love. What are they PLAYING AT?!

I'll be curious to see if myLot regrets making such a drastic change. Right now it appears as though many are upset enough to leave.
Usually that's not good for business. If myLot is a business and many of the business builders are leaving or at least slowing down then ..
Or maybe the new site will explode with success.
Either way, I'm curious too.

You are probably right, ctrynny.
Going back to your original post, myLot says that they are implementing requests from many of the members. That's all well and good.
If there were some kind of overload of requests that admin is trying to honor then that's fine. Make them available and optional.
But how many of our members requested a stop payment from the site?
I think we know the answer.
I smell a rat. A fishy rat.

Hi ctry......I don't know if you'll be able to figure it out or not because people won't delete their account. From what I'm hearing, most people, like myself, will still be around once in a blue moon but not like we are now. The population should stay pretty close for quite some time unless people actually delete their accounts.....you know what I mean?

Please read the comment I made in response #10 right below me. You will not get paid by the 15th, if I'm understanding this correctly, unless you have at least $5.00 in your myLot account by the time they put up the new myLot THIS week. Just wanted to let you know that unless I'm reading it wrong.
I don't think they'll delete accounts unless your inactive for at least six months.....but that is only a guess and I might be totally wrong. Maybe they won't even delete accounts....I'm not sure. All I know is, if you do not delete your account the population will look the same.

ctryhnny Me too so I too will write down that number and I will not leave but will have to find another money making site that will help me to be able to afford to stay on mylot occasionally as I love all my friends here.I do not even know just where to look?

I had heard about editing posts and other such changes. As for not earning, I have yet to see a rich mylotter. We are mostly people who, for different reasons, have no jobs or live in countries where they don`t pay much. I am going to spend more time at Easyhits4U (a traffic site that has been paying for years). I don`t surf so much there because I prefer to talk to my friends here. Now I guess I`ll just say "hi" some of the days.

So that's the big changes behind the scenes that they were promising us, what a total let down. I too wonder if there is going to be a mass exodus once these changes are implemented. I am more concerned about losing my friends here on Mylot, that is why I have decided to open up a Facebook account, in case people want to contact me, I don't like Facebook, but I don't like losing all the wonderful friends I have made over the years. I won't leave Mylot, so hopefully a few friends will stay.

MyLot made its name and its uniqueness by trying to encourage QUALITY over anything else. I very much doubt that, even if the new site publishes the number of members, it will be accurate or relevant.
Since you posted, it has increased by one to 251,570 but I know that MANY people have already left, never to return. A few of them may have taken the trouble to cancel their accounts. Most will simply not return and MyLot will still count them as the 'MyLot population'.
Yes, we are all, in a sense, 'suckers'. We join sites and think that, as members and supporters, we have a say. when actually the only real say we have is whether we decide to be a member or not.

That number is not realistic. It is the total number of users who have registered but even after they cancel or are deleted by admin the number does not change. It only increases when new users join.

Okay... My first response to this appears to have been eaten.
That "population" number really isn't all that high--not when compared to other sites such as Twitter or Facebook. Plus, a percentage of those members are not active; I know of several people who have not participated on here in a long while but still have accounts.
I do wish that myLot was not going down this path. It saddens me to see a site of which I've been a member for half-a-decade choose such a route.

I am thinking that most people will not actually close the account, so the numbers might stay close. I can imagine it may be slow for awhile. I am just hoping that we actually get paid, even though I wish all would of been able to.

No ctry, this is what they said.....I think they're saying that if you made $5.00 worth of earnings this week before they put up the new myLot, then you will get paid...otherwise, you won't. I only have $2.50 roughly and if the new website goes up this week, I don't get paid.
"The famous myLot Earnings Program will be discontinued, effective whenever the new website goes live this week. Users who have accumulated $5 or more in earnings and who have been active during the last 30 days will be paid as normal by May 15."

I'll still have to go and visit the site from time to time. I'm still curious how the site will go after they decided to stop paying its members. But not to the point of spending too much time here. I would rather focus on the sites where I can earn something extra. It sounds so desperate that I need money or whatever but that is the primary consideration why I joined the site :)

we are more than 251K but only a small percentage of this has been actively participating in the discussions. some people come and go. others like us become hooked because we enjoy the banter and we earn.
because of this new mylot policy, the members will not increase as much as it was doing during the past few months. however, it will not decrease either. most people who register on sites never bother to remove their accounts. they just go away and don't log in anymore.

The population of myLot keeps growing. This reflects the interests
of people from countries around the world. Earning is a reason, but
still, apart from that, the opportunity to meet and make friends with
wonderful people internationally is a good reason too, I would say.

My answer is not original: I will pop now and then to see my friends if the are still here. But I will certainly not spend the amount of time I used to. And it isn`t for the money itself. The amount I earn here in a month will boy 1 (one) bread crumb a day for one person in my country. But I don`t like the changing of rules. And I think that if a site is online, it is because it gets money from somewhere. If I want to do some work online for free, I prefer to go to freerice.com and play while donating rice to the hungry of the world. If not, I`ll get a site that pays while having some fun.

I will be here once in awhile, but I won't be here all day long or evfen a few hours a day. I think that mylot is making a mistake changing their site, but since they own it, they can do anything they want with i. I am not happy about them not paying us anymore either, even though it really wasn't about the money, it was a little bit that did help, and now I won't have it anymore. Like you, I will spen more time on my other sites that I am a member of, as I have been neglecting them for mylot. It just won't be worth coming in here once it is changed, as it will be just like LFacebook, and I already have a Facebook account, and I don't need another one. I will come in from time to time to see how things are going here, and see how many will stay here, but you can bet, it won't be all that many, especially when most need the money badly. Take care, and have a good day.

I don't know if I will still stay in here as my current work is not that tight or there is no assurance that my work will stay long. There are hearsay, there would be stop selling of units where we are the processing department. I am just doing Mylot here in our office during Sundays if there is no so much work and if my tasks are already finish. The management told us we will be move to another office and we will be trained so probably in our new work soon there is a strict supervision already.

Right now the population is 251,572 and it won't decrease considerably because very few users will close their accounts.
But the thing is, almost 99.99% of mylot members will never login every day. So, ...
It will be a place for spammers and may eventually will shut down in future.
I don't think they can't afford to pay no more. They can afford it . And also, they could have been decrease the referral bonus of 25% to 10% rather than stopping the earning program altogether.
They just want to turn it like FB and Twitter and want to compete with them.
I still hope, they will not change anything.
Thank you and good bye
