Rabbit Skin Glue

I've just been searching on the net for instructions to make a super glue strength glue out of rabbit skins. Amazing! I saw a video of two guys' weight being held by this glue. Someone told me about it so I looked it up, and I'll be making it just as soon as I get a minute. At the moment I discard our rabbit skins as I can't tan, so it'll be good to have something to do with them. Have you ever heard of rabbit skin glue? It sounds incredible that you can make super strong glue a home like that. Ever made anything like that?

I never heard of it! Don't know if I've ever made anything "like that" but I like to do things that way - sort of back to basics. I made white glue once and that was cool.

White glue is simple and very fast, especially compared to boiling and boiling rabbit skins. You have to use skim milk, either naturally soured if it's "raw" or soured with vinegar if it's pasteurized. Let it set at room temperature until it curdles, then drain the whey off and stir in a little baking soda. Stir until it's smooth and that's all there is to it. If it's lumpy and won't smooth down, add a tiny bit more of baking soda and if it's too thick, add a drop or two of water.

How do you make white glue then? Rabbit glue is made by boiling and boiling and boiling the skins.

No I never heard of it.. but I'm glad you'll find a use for the skins so they're not wasted.

Really, it's amazing. I've got to try making it myself yet though, and it's actually loads of work.
