I've been working pretty much all day in the garden today and have managed to get all the chillies, peppers and aubergines out. What started off seeming like a simple job turned into a massive one when I realised how much weeding and hauling of mulch I had to do to complete the job.
How are you progressing with your Spring plantings? I still have onions which need planting, both seedlings and seed onions, and a bag of potatoes for tomorrow. Then when my partner is home with the tractor we'll do the corn and beans.

I am about to start my autumn planting here. I have lettuce, chard and arucule. I will see if I can have some potatoes and carrots too. I transplanted today some chives into more containers (I separated them). I love a lot of chives in a omelette.

Last year my small plants dried up almost during winter. So I cleaned the dry part as much as I could, loosened the soil and placed a transparent plastic bag over them. I had chives all year around.

I'm not getting much planting done this year because I may be moving. I do have a few things in containers that I can take with me, but it just doesn't seem the same.
It's also been cold and snowy here off and on, so the ground is really too wet to work. I put some potatoes in containers before the snows started so they're probably frozen now! But we shall see.
I'm really missing gardening.

I never made it out to see if mine were alive or not, but it's snowing and blowing right now and supposed to be below freezing again tonight. Yesterday, we cleaned the back yard, mowed and fertilized and it was all green and spring like... now it's under three inches of snow...

I have been picking strawberries and getting the grapes on the lines, as they need to be trained to stay on the wires. I can see small grapes have formed, so should be picking this summer. The raspberries are slow growing this year don't think they like April Gloom and to think its usually June Gloom.

Too chancy to plant much here yet. Just last week it was 10 degrees F here.
My chives did not come back up. My Egyption onions did. My majoram did. My yellow oregano did not. My garlic did. 2/4. We had a hard winter with many subzero nights.
I want to try to put in small green onion seeds tomorrow.

I've just put in some potatoes that had gone all sprouty. Still have to prepare the other beds before planting anything.
