With the nearing of the election day for local and national positions, comes the seemingly endless campaigns, debates/forums, and of course, the informal talks such as rumors, biased opinions, and the dirty jokes. I am sure most of you are familiar with most, if not all of this situations. I don't usually talk about politics o anything closely related because I honestly can't say anything good about it. I just want to share a joke that I heard from a public utility vehicle (tricycle, to be specific) driver that I was riding with the other day. As I was on-board the vehicle, the driver suddenly asked, "What is the difference between thieves and politicians?". To be honest, I thought about saying "Nothing" but decided against it and just smiled instead. He then said "Thieves steal first then run, while politicians run first then steal." I gave out a short laugh as I thought how the joke was so classic, funny, and true.
Many of you have probably already heard of this and several other similarly related jokes, and although they sound like stereotyping and insulting, I hope it should rather be considered as criticism and still funny, the fact that it is meant as a joke.
Just sharing a little funny incident. Now, I'd like to hear what you fellows have to say about this.

This only goes to show how people perceive politicians as corrupt and out to gain big bucks from office. However, we cannot blame people for this kind of thinking as most of the time it is true especially in the rural area. I guess people are wondering where all the millions of pork barrel go to. The roads are as bad decades ago without any quality infrastructure being erected to maximize travel and the movement of products. Some politicians have SALN's amounting to a few million when they start running for a political position but after being in office for a while, these politicians amass great wealth to the detriment of the taxpayers. Jokes are funny but it is a reflection of how bad we think of politicians.

Yes everybody know about the fact but most of the politicians do not get affected because of it and it is not a big deal for politicians, we all know that politicians is not doing well and most of them just want to make money and do not care about public..
