I were so disappointed last night during releasing of our salaries it just we know that the company didn't pay our holiday which is last April 9, 2013 the company did not notify us or even give a memo on that matter so as we expect that it is double pay we all very disappointing with this matters. Is this lawful act or not??? plsss give some sort of views in here thank you....

the same thing happen with some of my office mates here. i was just lucky because i got selected to give what is due to me. but my heart belongs to my office mates who weren't able to receive double pay. i think it was unfair since all of us were on duty last April 9, 2013. but only selected people were given the double pay, this is so unfair and unjust. This isn't just about the money, this is about how employers follow the labor law about pay rules during non-working holidays. i sympathized my office mate if they feel upset about this, because if this happen to me, i feel the same way. i think it's better if you talk to the payroll master and if they were not able to resolve the issue then that's the time that you need to report this to DOLE.

Araw ng Kagitingan is a Legal holiday and it should be double pay! That is my birthday, by the way . You can ask your Payroll department regarding that, that is your right as an employee.

You can go to the Department of Labor and Employment to file a complaint against your employer. But please talk to the management first, okay? Just in case they cannot give you a valid reason then that would be the time that you have to go to DOLE. It was included in the labor code so your employer is bound to comply with the rule. An employee is entitled to a 200 percent of your regular for that day. Please read this for more information: http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/385593/dole-announces-pay-rules-for-april-9-holiday
