How can you convince the salesman that you are not interested in his product?

I am sure that each one of us has been annoyed by salesmen. I do not know how they manage to annoy so much, but they do it anyway. Even when we say that we are not interested to buy the product, these salesmen go on speaking about how wonderful their product is, that everybody else in the locality has bought their product and they look at us as if we would lose something in life if we do not buy their product. When we say we are not interested, they perhaps think we are joking. Do you ever manage to convince the salesman that you are not interested to buy his product?
