Hi all! Finally the cat is out of bag. Mylotters who are here for the sole purpose of earning will leave mylot within no time and will run away to other sites. As regards me I am going to stay here forever because when I joined mylot, earning was not the reason for my joining here and it could never be. Mylot gave me an opportunity to connect with friends around the Globe and it has been a wonderful experience to share thoughts with others. I can imagine now the population of mylot or say the number of mylotters will come down to 5-10% of the total because there would be very few true mylotters who would like to remain here without earnings. I am still hoping against the hope and hopefully some of the mylotters will be here to join me and share their thoughts with me. Happy mylotting to all.

There are different people with different needs and while it lasted it was good; the small pocket money here was a good incentive; but , as I had said earlier, I used to write in Yahoo answers and it was not for any money;apart from this I could meet friends like you and interact a lot and get to know them.I have email IDS of those people and we can keep in touch; but I would still continue to peep in here like usual though I would still be slightly inactive but not vanish totally from the scene. As such I have been a bit infrequent with other activities taking away my time. Many people used to get disappointed with the slow earnings here and now it has becoem 'no earnings' at all. So, the crowd is likely to be less.

Hi Kala! Yes, you are right that there are different people will different need and pocket money which one used to get from discussions here may not be there from now onwards. For people like you and me what matters is 'connection' and 'exchange of thoughts', which helped us understand ourselves in a better way. I have learnt a lot from this site and have some exceptionally wonderful friends, which otherwise would not have been possible, therefore, for me there is no question of leaving this site even after its new avatar. Thanks for sharing.

It is good to see you here. I posted my comments yesterday on the older version of mylot but to my surprise am unable to see those comments today, therefore, posting my comments again. Yeah, it is true that we have connected with new friends here and that is wonderful. Thanks for responding.

I will stay, because of the beauty of the person's that have crossed my path, on this site! "Jewels" most precious....as the world is asundered with radicality and extremism. My friends here, are a warm thought on a winter's day...a cool breeze in the summer's heat! Truly, welcoming...but my heart still hurts for some of the senior member's whom were reliant/dedicated on their earnings here, and we will see so little of them, as their energies now must go somewhere else, to continue their existence in the cyber world. I shall, FOREVER, be grateful for you lovely blossoms in my world!

we are more than 251K mylotters and only a small percentage of this is active even with the money incentive. i joined mylot primarily for the money but after the first few days i realised that i wouldn't be earning much. i stayed on because i enjoy this site and i found this quite informative. reading through the discussions about the different perspectives of people from all walks of life is an eye opener for me. however, i also felt excited as the cents kept piling up. i will still be here but i won't participate that much. i will just read.

same here. At first , it was money, then afterwards, enjoyment PLUS bonus money. I think coming here for money or just to enjoy doesn't define a true mylotter.

Dagami - Whatever you said in your response would be true for many mylotters. They initially joined for earning money but later they started liking the site because of interaction with other users and various kinds of discussions. It is entirely upto you whether you want to participate or just wanna read discussions. Thanks for sharing.

The entire community will have a new look as many with whom you are interacting may leave. We need to watch and see. It is also possible that users proclaiming that they are not here for money could have motivated myLot to take this decision when in fact that may not be true.

Hi ak! Yes, you are right that that once mylot undergoes a change, new members will join. I do not think that proclamation of members that they are here not for money would have motivated mylot to change its avatar. Mylot authorities might have thought that if sites like FB could progress leaps and bounds without paying a penny, they might also be successful like that. Having said that, I would continue to be here, irrespective of the changes. Thanks for sharing.

I have a passion for writing. And as much as I would want to spend that much on the site, that might cause me trouble with my husband. He would only allow me to go online if he knows that I am being paid for something that I do. Not unless I get another site that would pay like Mylot had, then I could still spend the same time with Mylot as before.

Hi jen! I can understand your passion for writing and I hope that you would be around even if there would no earnings from discussions and hopefully you would be able to convince your hubby about the usefulness of this site. Hope to see you in discussions. Thanks for sharing.

@dpk262006 thanks, friend! But I will still keep my hopes up in finding another great site as Mylot. The changes it now has is something that we all need to get used to. And I guess, seeing Mylot still as our online helper would make us all feel better.

Hi dpk, How r u? I joined mylot purely with an intention of earning something extra but soon after joining i enjoyed the interactions/discussions/making friends etc so much that i forgot that i have come here to 'earn'. This is a unique site for discussions and in the absence of it.. i don't think so i will be so punctual here...

I am fine Viju! I can understand your point that you initially joined this site for earning and later on when you got connected with so many other users, you started enjoying this site. It is needless to mention that because of mylot, we are friend, else we might have been strangers to each other. Thanks for joining.

Let us wait and watch whether new members join when there would be no earnings. Earning was the major attraction for majority of mylotters and they will all disappear now, I believe. Nice to know you would be here, I too would be here to enjoy discussions. dpk PS - Have okayed your request for add on FB, please check.

Well, nothing last forever. The seven years that I've been with this site has been wonderful and the friendships I earned is something that I cherish most. I hope to maintain my membership with mylot even though many of my friends maybe leaving this site after the changes. How sad!

Well I wasn't here for the sole purpose of making money here. I did join for the sole purpose of making money. I stayed because of the people. Sadly, the making money really helped. I know it was never much but I dislike this new layout very much. It reminds me too much of twitter. It's almost like they got popular and then took away the thing that made them popular!!!!!!

Many of us were here for both the money and the interaction. We posted quality and got involved because we loved it. The money aspect is how we justified our time on here. The way they went about it and the wording of their original announcement was insulting. I think they will lose a lot of dedicated members that have stuck it out for years. I sure am not going to hang out and help them earn money after the way they announced it all yesterday. And I'm not leaving "solely because of the money"!!

Hi dpk! Yes, it's true. Believe me, I really do/did like myLot. This place is/was totally my platform in more ways than one. I never exactly relied on the earnings here, yet I realize it is a factor in my usage of time, what little time I have to be on the computer. I've spent a lot of time in the past on other sites which had no earnings at all - I can easily get hooked to a place where people are welcoming and I just want to go back at every spare moment. But I'm in a place now where I need to seriously think about getting back into the work force - I need to think of the future for me and our family - but also the time I spend with them. The small earnings here (and other sites) have built up to lump sums that have helped us greatly - so actually, the earnings kind of justified my time here - as much as I enjoyed all wonderful exchange here with friends which was priceless. In any case, I take this as a sign to move on - regarding the earning end of things anyway. But friendships do not have to end. I know you enjoy connecting with people around the world to share thoughts and ideas - and that's great! (I know how to get a hold of you ). I just hope myLot holds up their end of things and that the new and improved site lives up to its expectations. I'm sure I'll come back to check it out anyway - it's not quite "the end" yet. Always a pleasure to chat with you dpk . . . best of luck to you in life and with the new round of myLot! But you'll be hearing from me eventually!

Hi much! It is good to see you here and am happy to note that earning was not the priority for you when you used to come here. It is true that I enjoy connecting with people around the world and I've made some wonderful friends. Hopefully, we will continue to keep connecting with each other through one site of the other. Thanks for all the kind words about me.

Well, will you still continue here when they start serving you with those adverts, those spam links and referral links? I feel that once we get on to the newer version, there will be nothing of anything near to discussions... we the people who have loved Mylot for its "Discussions" are going to have a tough time too... And as for quitting, I will, if I get no way to block spam, referral links and I do not find discussions. But as of now, I like you and many others, will have to wait, and watch how things shape up in the coming few weeks

NOW, I have THREE of my favourite people in one discussion..what more could one ask for?????? I will be forever "thankful" to myLot, for allowing this wonderful interchange and enjoyment of our past interactions. Each of you, adding so much perspective to my values in life.... I truly do value your respect/caring! I do think I will hold a "service" today, for the old myLot, and have a prayer service, filled with hope that I will not lose touch with my rainbow of friends. Take care, dearhearts!

I hardly know anyone here personally, never sent pm to anyone in my friends list.i just know people here by their discussions so i hope people will respond to me even after these new developments.I will be staying here too because the earning part on Mylot ended for me when the posting of Article writing tasks stopped.15-20 dollars by discussions would only pay for my Internet bill which was bonus,it was like have fun by interacting with nice people along with free internet. Now free internet wont be there but i dont mind that.Bonus is a surprise not a necessity. I will be active here like before although my activity will reduce when i go back to sail.So i am staying too, cheers.

It is good to hear that you intend to be around even if the bonus of earning vanishes from this site. Yes, it is true that earnings from discussion is not huge and one needs to work pretty hard to earn even one dollar. Hope to see you here in more discussions.

This site is STUPID now! WHY are they copying twitter and facebook??? Why not be original? I will not be sticking around now that I have seen this site. It has nothing to do with the money... It has a LOT to do with the way we were told and now this site is stupid looking!! They are so not original anymore and it is a REPEAT site like others... NO THANK YOU!! Not everyone will leave because of the money, there are other reasons now that we see the stupid site...

hi Deepak, so i get this piece of informtion from you. it is unfortunate for many who particvipated mainly for money. I wonder how long people would continue on this site when people would eventually have no motivation at all. People have popular website to share their opinoions on a much larger base. may be it is a step towards its closure. i liked it as well however, just could not contirbute much. anyways, it was nice meeting you through mylot.

Hi Shweta! Nice to see you here. Yes, it will indeed be a telling blow to those who mainly come here for earning money. Their motivation of earning will be over, so they will stop coming here. "I must agree if it ain't broken don't fix it," is more truer here mylotters will flee from here at an alarming rate. Even though the money wasn't much it was a good incentive to keep mylotters coming back. I'm still in the wait and see mode maybe there will be more changes to come.

I am not leaving so much because of the earnings but because of the way they worded the notice. They have since deleted the offending sentence, but suffice it to say it was rude. I won't repeat what it was as I don't want them to go deleting my response here as I do need the money that this response will generate. Now with that being said I don't want you to feel as if I've merely responded for the money. I've also responded because I will miss speaking with you and many others here, many whom I know are leaving right along with me. This site was a great site for friendship, for advice, and yes for money and earnings. Now it will most likely go downhill.

I think the saying, "If it is not broke don't fix it," applies here. I like the way old Mylot separated all the responses. This way makes it look all cluttered. Then all the topics are gone. How are we supposed to find an interesting conversation outside our friends?

I am not going to be here much longer and it has nothing to do with the money. This site looks ridiculous now and there is no more justification to being here. If I want to be on Twitter or Facebook. I will go on Twitter and Facebook. Many members are upset but they way they all got insulted and the rug pulled out from under them. From what I saw on a daily basis, the site wasn't that active with people having left but the numbers were still there and as someone said the little bit of earnings helped some people and it was justification for spending hours on a forum only site.
