Some body shaking me bed for 5 sec

Today one hr before i was sitting on my bed and playing game on my phone and suddenly i feel that somebody is shaking my bed and my head i like revolving. After that i got know that its earth Quake strike and run out of my room.( Place - Delhi- INDIA) but after that nothing happened. This is my 1st time i feel earth quake and feared as well as excited also.
please share if you also feel earthquake in your life time and also the protective measure you follow at that time.

There was only one time when I felt earthquake. It was last year. The length of the quake I felt was just a couple of seconds. Some people felt it as well, but I am glad that our place is not located in the quake zone. It is said that when an earthquake happens, you have to get out of the building within fifteen seconds. But I live on the fifth floor, I am wondering how I can protect myself if it really happens. If there is not enough time to run all the way downstairs, I will stand under the beams for protection.
