Nothing is too old and if you think that creative thinking ends with old age then you are grossly wrong.
A 70-year-old Shanghainese and inventor, Zhou Miaorong created an evacuation slide which makes escaping burning buildings faster, and more fun! Installed in a five-storied building in Shanghai, and residents would just need to pull a latch to release and assemble the slide on the staircase for evacuation.
Test had been physically conducted and this descent from the 5th floor took around 15 seconds. It is very suitable especially for old aged or handicapped occupants. I believe some major income is coming this inventor's way.
What do you think?

Don't exactly have the video but you may want to see a few more photos from Huffington Post for a clearer picture.

How many stories could one safely descend? It does sound like a good idea, but does it attach to a window sill? How would someone elderly or disabled access it?

The one that is being built here is in a 5 storey/floor building. When it is not in used it is being stowed away along the side of the staircase railing. All it takes is pulling an installed lever during an emergency and the slide will descend onto the stairs.

Wow, this is marvellous! I believe it is very practical and life savings as well . Especially old people get to be evacuated at a faster pace and many lives could be safe . The inventor is undoubtedly reaps huge earnings with his excellent invention .

I felt that it is a very good invention too and sure takes away the stress for those who are incapacitated by injury or elderly folks who literally could not move fast during emergency situations.
