I only visited England back in 2009 when I learnt from my sister in law that a very good (and cheap) shop there is Tesco (especially when adding the cash back in points for the special card they offer to people living in the UK). I know that Tesco express is pretty expensive in comparison but have heard of another one recently named Aldi. I will be moving in East England in September and need some help.
To my UK living friends and members of mylot, can you give advice on hypermarkets to keep in mind - which has better quality, and which has better prices ? Should I get a computer of amazon.uk or should I get it from a local store ?
To the other members reading this topic that can't answer the above - have you visited another country and did you find any good shops there ?

Aldi, and it's competitor,Lidl both are German in origin and have made business success in the UK and Ireland as discount stores.. ASDA is now a subsidiary of the American Walmart group and is in direct competition with Tesco. Sainsbury's would be a close competitor. There's a website,mysupermarket.co.uk,which will allow online price comparisons between the big players so you can see which offers the best value. Shopping around is always a good idea!
