ps2 acts like it is going to start but then stops. what can i do to fix that?

ps2- when i turn it on, the green light comes on for about a second or two and then turns to red- thus turning itself off. what can i do to fix that?

I never heard that one before but the playstation two is obselete now you should go out and buy a playstation three or a nintendo wii but don't buy an xbox 360 because they melt discs and cd's when they overheat but if you really want to fix your playstation two just take it to a game reapair place or you could always buy a new one they are really cheap now............
