It seems that as gun ownership and permits to carry increase the gun violence goes down. We hear on the news of gun sales going out of sight and more and more people are getting permits to carry a gun and how this is not good. Now the LA Times reports that over the past 20 years gun violence has been sharply declining. Is there a relationship between the decrease in gun violence and more people being able to defend them selves?
Gun crime has plunged in the United States since its peak in the middle of the 1990s, including gun killings, assaults, robberies and other crimes, two new studies of government data show.
