How Dumb Do The Scammers Think We Are?

Coincidence? I don't think so. LOL Remember those scams that originated some years ago about the Nigerian Royal Family, or some poor person who died and needs just a little help to get their money out of a foreign country, or whatever-the-heck-other stupid reasoning they can think of? This time they are ATTEMPTING to look smarter. I got a feeling if my name was "Milankovic" then the victim of the air crash would be a Mr. Milankovic, and not a Mr. Christensen. LOL Hey, to their credit, atleast they spelled my name right. LOL Not everyone does that, even when they are looking right at it. How dumb do they think people are? I wonder if people actually fall for this stuff, or if the addition of their own last name makes it just personal enough to be believeable? LOL Never heard of James Christensen. Of all the Christensens in my family, I have the most North-American sounding first name, and even "Leah" isn't as common, as "Laura," or "Lisa," for example. So here's what the idiots scammers sent me today. LOL To: Leah Christensen Good day. I work for a genealogical investigator and we have contacted you with regards to the estate of late Mr. James Christensen who died in an air crash a few years ago leaving his multi million pounds estate unclaimed. As he was a single child and unmarried, its been difficult locating his relatives. Our search has brought us to you as a possible heir, hence we have contacted you to adcvise on how to claim the inheritance. Do respond to this message ASAP for further discussions. Regards, Rufus Sewell.

Unfortunately, I know that many people actually do fall for such scams. If not, then they wouldn't do it. It's just like the bizarre warnings you find on some labels. It seems like common sense, but things happen, I guess.
