Dream:Oh Canada?

In this dream, I drove a lime green, Volkswagon Beetle and lived in Canada. In the town in which we resided, most things were within walking distance, so a car wasn't actually necessary unless you needed to go outside the town for some reason. Before leaving the town, all residents were required to check out at the Office and all residents coming back to the town, were required to check in before returning to their houses. The office was merely a very small building guarded by a sweet, little old lady who smiled and said either "mornin" or "afternoon". After dropping my girls off at school, I walked into a shop across the street, handed 50 cents to the man behind the counter and asked for a cherry slushie. After receiving my order, I walked back outside and carefully observed two display machines set up next to the building. One machine held a colorful assortment of stuffed animals, the other had large bags of buttered popcorn. Nothing desirable. Someone left a quarter in the slot of the popcorn machine. I shoved the quarter into my pocket and continued on my way. .
