Figure it out

I have been stuck figuring out how I can make money and have flexible schedule. The flexiblity is a must with having kids. I need something in case something happens to my husband. We recently found out he has some major medical issues and could possibly be a problem down the line. As a stay at home mom, I must be able to take of the homefront but would like to able to take of certain things. I thought about going back to college but I need a career path with flexibility. The one thing I want to do wouldn't really work right now because of the state of the economy. Trust me, I don't think it is going to get any better but rather I think it is going to get worse, much worse. I see it as the calm before the storm.

I am not sure what you want to study and what careers interest you, but for the sake of flexibility and being home to take care of your children, i just want to say that i have many friends who have done most of their college classes through an online school. Might be an option to look into. Could get classwork done while the kids are in school/napping, and still be home to care for them with out paying for child care and the like. Best of luck to you!

@fruitcakeliz My youngest look like he is starting Pre-K in the fall. I need flexibilty with having 3 kids. Daycare is to pricey to do something full-time. I love Interior Design but this economy it isn't career worth starting because of all the highs and lows. I do have some college credits and accounting was my major but that was over ten years ago.

@work4kids2007 well maybe for now you should look into applying those credits (if possible) to an online school and taking some more business courses. If nothing else it would put you in a good place to be able to open your own business (maybe a home design consultation firm or something?) in a few years when your children are all in school full time and you would have the ability to do more out side of the home.
