My sister says “I always have long arm shots of myself!” Does this happen to you? Trying to get yourself or everyone in the picture and having that one weird looking arm sticking out and through the side of your photos? “Were you even there?” my brother said to me after returning from a girl’s only trip to Virginia Beach. Being a photographer and an avid traveler, I love being in pictures; if not just to prove that I was there. When I am at the Eiffel Tower, I don’t just want a picture of the Eiffel Tower, I want to be in the picture with the Eiffel Tower. Is any of this sounding familiar? As your vacation photographer I will go anywhere you wish, any time of year and for however long you wish. Don’t worry about forgetting your camera in the hotel room, leaving it in the museum bathroom, or your kid leaving on the bench at the art museum. There will be no need to worry about your own expensive equipment getting lost or stolen, I accompany you on your vacation and take the photos so you don’t have to. I am there when you want and gone when you want. With posed and candid photos I can lock up and save your vacation memories the way you should remember them. ABOUT ME I love what a lens can capture. My name is Jess Clay and I am ready to lend a hand in recording your vacation memories. I have always been in awe of the things other cities, states and countries can offer. I love traveling, exploring new places, and revisiting old ones. I love interacting with people and making new acquaintances or even friends. I have over 10 years of experience in photography, from high school classes and college courses to self taught methods. I am not a “professional” photographer, meaning I don’t make photography a career, but I am by no means an amateur and I have professional skills in Photoshop. I have a creative eye, a positive and pleasant attitude, a relaxed kind of personality and, so I am told, a lot of patience. I do not require pampering, material goods, attention and sometimes I don’t even need a lot of money to be comfortable in my surroundings. I am not averse to camping in the middle of nowhere without amenities and I am not offended by being in the most famous or crowded city in the world. I value communication. I respect people’s privacy, belongings, and time. I also admire nature. I have traveled alone, with crowds and in small groups. I am also drug-free and do not have a criminal record. BEFORE BOOKING I need a few things from you before I go along with you on your vacation: Dates of travel for availability Once dates are confirmed available: I will require a deposit to block out the time requested. Deposit amount will be 40% of my total cost. Example: You want me with you for 7 days @ $250/day. 7x$250=$1400, 40% of $1400=$560, $560 would be the booking deposit. I must have a basic sketch of daily activities and locations, so I can research if necessary and pack accordingly. I would like to talk to you on the phone, in person or by email about: What kinds of shots you expect from me Specific places, things or people and special requests How personal or impersonal you want me to be? Do you want to know I am there, or do you want me to hang back? What are the boundries? With privacy and anything else you can think of. What are the restrictions? Background info Is there something your significant other, or kid really likes that I should pay attention for? Example: Your husband loves architecture, so I should watch out for interesting architecture. Or your kid loves frogs and I find the world’s largest frog. Is a surprise being presented during the trip? Should I know if you are proposing? Or Eloping? Is there a party? Or any other special occasion? The Images I shoot as many photos as I am permitted too. Just as in any other photography I shoot, I own the rights to the images taken. Basically, this just means you cannot print and or sell the images for a profit. However you can and will be able to print as many copies as you want for personal use. I will, and legally have to, get your okay in writing before I post any pictures of you or any other customers, on my promotional pages if I desire to use them. You will be asked and a form will be provided for you to sign if permission is granted. When I am home I will sift through and edit your photos to achieve the awesomest outcome possible. The images will then be burned to a CD or DVD depending on the number of photos taken. Cost Expenses paid by you: All flights All admission fees, cover charges, etc.-when I am with you on the clock My fee of $250/day for a 9 hour day.
