I understand Catholics are the majority of the Phillippine population that's why Catholic faith is being shove to the audience throats by every freaking Tv show. But i believe it doesn't hurt to at least put a minor character who is not Catholic. You know we are a diverse country. Though we have some occasional Muslim characters, How about the people of other Christian sects(Born Again,Iglesia ni Cristo,Protestant,Mormons,Baptist...etc) How about the indigenous people who worships other Gods? How about our Chinese community and Indian Community(some of them are Buddhist) We are a diverse country and that diversity is not shown on TV. ----

That is an interesting question. I personally do not know much about the culture in the Philippines, or your TV shows....but maybe if enough people who think like you make it known they want to see more diversity represented in the characters/roles, the producers might be willing to try it at least?

Imagine Mexicans who forgot how to speak Spanish, with a bit of Chinese,Malaysian,Indian and American culture. Thats how our culture is,

Hmm, I have decided not to really care about tv shows now since I don't watch them to begin with. It's always been the same old story just with characters of different names, etc. It's totally boring and there's not enough interesting characters to make me want to watch them. I'd like it to if they put something fresh on tv, it would also be interesting to find non-catholic characters so that we could understand them better.

As i said, the character doesn't have to be a main character. You mean the "poor girl and rich guy" cinderella story and the poor girl ho is actually the missing heir of a rich family.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Yeah that's the typical story line. I wonder why people are not getting tired of watching the same thing happening over and over. It's a total waste of the actors' talents. So far, I've not encountered any other character that is not muslim or roman catholic. It's not that I pay attention to their religion either LOL

Hi Cap, I´m glad to read you again I´ll tell you: those stories with thoes characters sells, everything is about rating and what people wants to see. It´s the same at Mexico, they produce what people buys. They make the soap operas with popular themes that sell. They don´t mind adding culture or something extra. Blessings... dainy

@CaptAlbertWhisker wow! It´s really excessive, I can see how frustrating it is for you. We have other religions shown at the soap operas, second charaters. But in your case I think you have reasons to complaint The social medias are the place to set your complaint. Look for the tv manager at fb or at their own page and complaint. Good luck!
