June 3rd came and went, no internet or phone...

So last night the internet and phone were not still working. Comcast hadn't called, and I had no idea if they had come by and done anything with the outside wires or not. So I called them this morning.
After a nice long time, the nice man in the Philippines call center (I'm guessing that's where their call center is from the accents) told me that my work order had never been put in, and he set me up an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Theoretically, somebody will call me tomorrow, and I will go home, and it will be fixed. He promised me not only a bill credit, but also some extra compensation for the inconvenience. Maybe extra channels or something, idk.
Maybe, just maybe, I will have internet and phone tomorrow night. Any bets?

To be honest, I would not count on comcast to do anything! One time on vacation I had a cable problem and ended up waiting three and a half hours on HOLD! The people who are on the other end of the line could care less about you! I'm not sure where the importance of customer service has gone.... But, Good Luck to you!

I was on hold 1 1/2 hours at the longest, and most of the people I talked to seemed to care. The problem was more that they weren't trained to handle unusual situations, just the routine ones.

Dang . . . I can't believe it's taking soooooooooo long!!
I was thinking you should get something more than just a bill credit too . . . how about it being FREE for the rest of the year?!
Hmmmmmmmmm, tough bet!!!!! I'll see what's up with you later!!

Hmph tried to reply to this and got a dang error message.
Guess I'll know tonight if it's fixed.
Wasn't their fault to start out with, but at some point they really dropped the ball.

It would have been really disheartening for you to know that your internet has not been restored. Hopefully, this time someone will keep his promise and your net connection will start working and you may get a kind of bonus also. All the best.

The repairman fixed it last night. Today I get to call Comcast and ask for a MAJOR bill credit!

OMG......i cannpt believe this still has not gotten fixed for you..........craziness!!!.....i would totally be looking into another company...and even telling them when you call how disappointed you are with how you were treated by comcast.....might get a good deal!
on another note...if it were me.....dealing with my company....(we don't have comcast here...)...but i see their vehicles just about every day driving by me when i am out an about town.....i would be jumping out in front of their service trucks, FORCING them to stop.....and pulling that darned driver by his ear lobe to my house!!...
i am so sorry for all your struggles with this hun...

No bets here. I don't like the odds. I've dealt with Comcast before.
I don't know if this will help, but I once read an article in Consumer Reports about negotiating deals with the 'bundling' companies. It works a large percentage of the time. An example is to say, "If you can't give me this deal, I am switching to Better TV & Internet Co. because they said they would". Because these companies are in such competition, they do not want to lose an existing customer.
Threaten, in a nice way of course, to leave Comcast for another 'more dependable' service if they can't get your service back up in a timely manner -- 'timely manner' meaning IMMEDIATELY.

Actually , the guy to set up my Comcast in the first place told me that. I got a lower price for the first year, and he said when it was due to increase, to just tell them I was switching if they didn't continue it.
The kids would prefer to go back to DirecTv, but that would cost a lot more...

But you don't have to tell Comcast it would cost a lot more.

I am surprised that your work order had never been put in so far.All was due to the outsourcing. Are you the only one that had breakdown on the internet and phone?

I think my neighbors don't have the service or more people would have complained.
