Welcome to the new MyLot, Warren. I remember you from long ago on the old one. You always posted very useful advice which was well worth reading (and very readable). It's good to see you again!
I think that you'll find the new Community Guidelines (under "Help" up there next to your username) much more amenable to your purpose than they were before. We are now permitted (and encouraged) to post promotional links, so long as we don't 'spam' (which I know you hate as much as the rest of us).
I have written a little (unofficial) guide which you may find useful, or, at least, interesting: Any input on anything I might usefully include in it would be most welcome!

welcome to the site! It can be quite fun (and addictive) depending on what you are looking for. i love seeing new people post here and learning/discussing things with them and hope to see more of you in the future!!
