You will find that the way to make friends here is to take part in discussions (use the 'Explore' menu and the 'Search' facility to find ones which interest you) and to start your own discussions on topics which you hope will interest others. It is all very much like taking part in and starting conversations. If you say nothing, you are 'invisible' and people won't know what you are interested in or passionate about and so won't know why they should be your friend.
