hello!!i just wanted to ask you something: i watched the exorcist 1973 the version you've never seen and i'm fourteen and it really really didn't scare me.seriously.and i'm usually scared from horror movies but this one is the best horror movie of all time. So that's why i just wanted to see why it didn't scare me at all.i mean the only scary thing is the girl.really i am not joking. so please if you have any ideas why it didn't scare me just tell.Because i seriously don't know and i find it weird.
and because my friend told that his mother watched it like 3 years ago and she almost need a psychologist!still don't know why.
so i am waiting for your answers.thank you

well, i would say some of that has to do with the fact that scary movies have come a long way since the 70's and many people are desensitized to the "old school" special effects and do not find them exhilarating compared to what we see in current movies. Also i think the religious aspect plays into the loss of effectiveness of this movie over time as well. If you are not a catholic/christian some of the movie might loose the scary/creepy aspect as well, as it is easier to take it as fiction instead of fearing it is something that might actually happen....
