It was year 2006 when my father passed away.
I remembered that day of his funeral.
It was full of tensions and complications.
My father was so imperfect that no one wished to be
in his shoes nor to be his child.
He's too kind that he didn't protest nor
complain.He nodded to avoid pressure.
He had another woman. Everybody knew it.
He had a daughter with her whose age was same as my second sister.
We were never introduced although we bumped into
each other sometimes. My mom would tell negative stories about them.
Naturally, if your the wife, you would hate anyone
flirting with yours.
I remembered my uncle said that we, the children, we're 5 plus 1, should
not create any tensions since we're not involve in the sin.
But we were. My mom planted hatred on us towards the other family.
To cut my melodramatic story short, on that day of death,
my father chose to take his last breath in our house, in front of
my mom. He said sorry and all.
Even though this happened, on the funeral, the other family showed
up. Both parties displayed some proof of documents. The woman also had the
marriage certificate. My mom in return showed hers but the date was later
than the other woman's which made my mom the mistress.
So complicated that I wanted to scold my mom for not paying
attention to these things.
7 years later, this Father's Day, I still can recall
everything. My father was the kindest but too imperfect
rational being. I just respect him as a father but his memories
whether painful or grateful, remains in my heart. In fact,
I think he was never happy when he was alive. His decisions
created complications to the people around him.But of course, whatever
happened and will happen, he is still no other than MY FATHER.
