In fact,I've been writing novels online for many years, but I couldn't have got a penny, for the novels I write online are something of too pure and too serious a theme.in stead of pages of stuff and nonsence.I don't think i'm wrong.I'll stick to my dream. Now,I've made up my mind to write in English. So,That's why I've signed in Mylot.Am I crazy?

@wangcs I love to read them and write, though I've never written a novel. I'm from a family of authors.

@skyandgrassplot Really? Well, I hope you find other sites that are allowed in your country. Amazon is a place where we can publish e-books and get paid when they are sold. I hope Hubpages is allowed - here is some info, but I think they have some info in Amazon too..
A full guide on how to self-publish your e-book on Amazon's Kindle, with pictures. Go through the process step by step, and remember: never stop writing!

I'd stick to your native tongue, if I were you. Readers are a very discerning bunch, and if you're self-publishing, you might get a bad reputation as a writer if your English grammar isn't up to par with the rest of the writing field.
Example: Though I speak a little Italian, I wouldn't attempt to write in Italian. The inversions and the colloquial speak and a thousand other aspects of the language I don't grasp would hinder me. If any Italian picked it up to read it, it would come across very amateurish at best.
My advice, for what it's worth: Write in your native language, and if you want to inject something "English" into it, use American-based or Canadian or Brit storylines. Because if you attempt to write in English and your English isn't great, you're gonna have a bad time.
I don't think it's "crazy" per se; it's just not something one should attempt unless their grasp of another language is impeccable.

@wangcs Or perhaps get yourself some good editing software. And don't forget to research various aspects of storylines; i.e. if you're writing about a particular area, look into colloquial speech rather than technical speech. It's hard to keep a reader's attentions with the type of language you'd find in a tech textbook. Know what I mean?
You could increase your market significantly by actually publishing a book in multiple languages. Just make sure that each language is impeccable. As every writer knows, one must have complete control over language in order to intrigue an audience.
Good luck to you!

@matersfish I'm so much abliged to you for your directions. From your words,i know how i should make the first step in novel-writing of English. But i cannot gurantee the English language i master is impeccable. What I want to do is to use precise and clear words in my novel. After all,my novel is about China, which,i think, is watching focus to a foreigner.Hope to read your words again

Welcome to mylot family.
As you are already an author, you could write on line novels in English after some practice. Mylot is a place for discussions and sharing our views and opinion. The more discussions you start, more knowledge you will gain. Hope to see you more here on mylot.

It's not crazy, follow your heart! Writing improves your mastery of the language, and if English is not your native language, it helps you to practice. At long as you are enjoying the writing, just do it!

Of course you should stick to your dream!! But you know English and Chinese expressions are very different. If you want to write English novel, you'd better make it easy and natural for native english speakers to read.
