Each year in January my husband and I go on a vacation together (no kids, just us) and one of the things we do is sit down and review “The Plan” – it’s a place for us to write down some goals we want/need to accomplish in the coming year. We have 6 categories ranging from family to faith to finances. Something new I added this year is to have TO BE goals instead of just TO DO goals. For example, for the month of February, I am looking for opportunities TO BE an encourager and to express my thanks and appreciation for those around me.
To that end, I have decided to hold a Card-A-Day Challenge for February and wanted to invite you to join with me if you’re interested having a TO BE goal like me. Here’s the challenge: write a card a day to someone in my life letting them know I am thinking of them, love them, appreciate them, thank them, etc. That’s it! I am choosing to use Heritage Makers to create and publish my cards and even mail them for me using the Direct Ship option. You can follow my progress on my business Facebook page where I’ll be sharing cute card templates and inspirational quotes that you can use for your own cards and notes.
If you want to join me, I know those around you will appreciate it! Imagine starting or ending your day with grateful thoughts towards your family, friends, neighbours teachers, co-workers, anyone. The reward? TO BE an encourager, to influence 28 people in a positive way, AND $50 in more Heritage Makers publishing through www.MyPublishedStorybooks.com! How to register: send me an email through the Heritage Makers website with your list of daily recipients for the month of February. This will act as your “planning guide”. Yes you can change it, it’s just a guide.
Here’s a snippet of mine:
Feb 1 – Jacques, Valentine’s Day card
Feb 2 – Cynthia, thinking of you
Feb 3 – Aunt Jenny, be strong
Feb 4 – Melissa

i absolutley LOVE the idea......would rather take the initiative an do it on my own by either sending out a quick letter/card through the mail or even a note through email to those on my list who i know check on line regularly. it is a great idea for keeping in touch/getting back in touch with those people who you don't talk to often, and also makes you appreciate the bonds and relationships you have build over the years, all for the cost of a few stamps, or even less (just a few moments in time if you email)....thanks for the idea....i might have to pick a month in the near future and try to do that....
and actually thinking of that, for me, it seems more plausible to pick one person per WEEK and send them a random note of thanks/encouragement/thinking of you.....i like that idea...thank you..
