Notary Public

I have an opportunity to be a Notary Public for my current employment. So I commenced to gather the application, Handbook, and read the specification of what is entailed in holding this position. I pooled the best three people I thought would represent me in describing my character if need be to meet the qualification of the reference check. If one of the choice people ask what will the caller say and other questions of apprehension, should I omit his or her name from my list of contacts? I contend if the application illustrates to list three (3) people for character references, there are only certain questions the caller can ask when inquiring about one's character. It can not be rocket science. Right or wrong?

if someone seems hesitant to want to answer these questions, i personally would try to think of someone else to put on the list instead. I wouldn't take it as a personal affront, like they don't think you are qualified, but maybe they just are uncomfortable talking to strangers about someone they know and don't want to give a wrong answer, or that they feel put-out by having to perform this task. either way i would pick someone else. it is like asking people if they will give a reference to you for a job you are applying for, it can stress some people out as they think they might say something bad that causes you to not get the job, and then if you don't get hired/accepted, they will feel guilty about it.

Yes, I can understand your position but all one has to do is tell the truth. Isn't this what references are about when you choose someone to vouch for you? Hopefully, the person of which one chooses is upright in one's character as well to administer a fair and partial response. Consequently, I have chosen someone else. Thank you.
