Recently I have been scammed on ebay and altough it got resolved and I got my money back I decided to share my experience with bubblews.
It was a day like no other. I was browsing through the electronics section of ebay since I was looking for some cheap beats by dr dre. There was one auction which caught my attention. It was expiring in a few hours and the current bid was on 80$. I planned to set an maximum bid of 130$ since this was the amount of money I was able to spent on such a product. So I set that maximum bid and checked ebay back in 2 hours and I couldn't believe my eyes. I just got myself a new pair of the most recent beats by dr dre, well thats what I thought. While I was checking my sales on ebay I got a message from the seller of the beats containing an .pdf file. I opened it and was like "No this can't be ..." .
"Thanks for purchasing my very own manual on how to use the beats by dr dre. In order to ....." . This is just a short excerpt of the .pdf file I got from the seller. So in fact I purchased a 2 pages long manual for 130$ . I felt so bad since 130$ is a lot of money to me since I am a student. That's why I decided to contact the ebay support about this. I called them and explained my situation. They forwarded me to the official paypal support which deals with such disputes. So I gave them a call and told them that I got scammed. "I am sorry to hear that you got scammed on ebay. We received several calls these days about almost the same procedure of such bogus sellers. Since we didn't processed the funds to the sellers account you mentioned we are able to give you a full refund since ebay stands for its buyer protection".
After hearing this response from paypal I was more than relieved as you can probably imagine. Few hours after my call to paypal I checked my account and was able to see the money I spent almost on a 2 pages long .pdf file.
I never thought that I could be a victim of such scams. I am just glad that I got my money back and currently I avoid ebay till they get rid of these scammers. So beware when buying on ebay. If an offer sounds too good it is probably a scam. Keep this in mind while shopping on ebay to avoid such bogus salesman!

Most sellers on ebay are legit, but there are some jerks too. I am glad that paypal stood behind you and you got your money back.

You might as well avoid all online auction or sales then. Ebay is run by humans , not robots. Same as any other site. They're probably doing the best they can. My brother buys and sells through them all the time and he has become very good at spotting the scammers. Anyone who uses the site, needs to be the same way and report the scams that you find.
