yoga works but you have to selct the type of yoga you want to do.Hata Yoga is purely physical and makes every organ very strong.Raja yoga suits almost all people. Lay yoga is meditational and suits for very few. The yoga teacher should have attained mastery of the branch which he teaches.

I have started taking a yoga class in the last few months. I only go once a week, but I do think it has helped me with my tension-related aches and pains. I would encourage you to give it a try. Also remember that sometimes it takes awhile to find a class and teacher you like.

yoga works but u need devotion( do it regularly),faith(have positive thoughts for example : im goin to get cured).my papa had high triglycerids n cholestrol level but after doing yoga regularly for one n half yr he is in sound health (proven my medical reports).u need pasence cause u won't see result with a short period of time.
u can start with pranayum (breathing exercise).it also increases concentration .
