Jesus is the Son of God

I read a post last night that disheartened me and made me sick to my stomach. A man speaking his ignorance said that Jesus was not the Son of God and he tried to use the scriptures to prove his point. He used one passage of scripture, namely Matthew 22: 44-46 to prove his point. Let's first look at this.
Here we find Jesus contending with the Pharisees and other religious leaders. He asked them essentially what they thought of the Messiah. Then He gave them the answer. David even called the Messiah Lord! If David called the Messiah Lord then how could Jesus be the son of David? He was the Son of God who had come through David's lineage. However the Bible counts his lineage through Mary because He had no earthly Father! That is where our misled friend is missing the point. He is looking at Jesus as if He were a natural born human. He was not. He was half human and half God. This makes all the difference in the world.
When we sit down with the Bible and quit being so hard -headed with it, we find that it comes alive in our hands. You have to meet God part way. He won't drag you kicking and screaming to faith. However an open mind will find a treasure trove of knowledge in God's word.

We do tread on dangerous ground when we try to know all there is about God. If we were able to do that then he is not powerful enough for me to worship.

Those who doubt our Lord Jesus never have anything to say when asked "How do youexplain all the miracles he performed, so many that they would fill all the books in the world and then some."?
