Fleas

We had an infestation of fleas this past couple of weeks. Is it the heat that attracts them? We have shampooed our dogs and our carpets numerous times, used the anti-flea medication and flea collars, seems like nothing works. We are open to any suggestions. We are considering just shaving the dogs bald and relieving their agony. Wouldn't that be a humorous sight?

The laundry additive borax works wonders in removing fleas from inside of the home. And it is cheaper than most other powders, sprays and "flea bombs" on the market.
As to getting them off your pets, that is a harder one. Have you tried any of the prescription treatments from the vet? those tend to work better than the regular over the counter ones.
We tend to ignore fleas when we only see one or two. When our pet starts scratching and digging we take them a little more seriously. But when we walk in to a room and see half a dozen on our shoes we know that we are on our way to a flea infestation. Flea

It is so stressful when you find your dog or pets you live with, have been filling up with fleas without noticing. That happened recently to my dog. Since she doesn't like to be groomed, it took some days to know about it. It's wonderful that we could get rid of those annoying insects.
I hope you have been able to overcome your flea problem.
