Has anyone heard about the supposed "silent" ringtone? A friend of mine was telling me about it and I don't understand it. WHY would anyone BUY a silent ringtone? Why not just put the phone on vibrate? Have you ever purchased a silent ringtone and if not, would you? I sure wouldn't. What a waste of money!

Yeah, I think I actually heard about that. I mean about the kids being able to hear it, but not the adults. There's a tech guy I listen to on a local radio station here and I think he actually played it over the air for us. Still seems kinda stupid to me, but oh well.

It apparently emits a high pitched tone that the kids can hear, but not the adults. I still don't see the point, but whatever. The stupid things people will sell these days.

There is no way I would spend $$ to have a silent ringtone on my phone. I work somewhere where having the Cell phone on, is not advised, so I keep my phone on vibrate. It does mean I miss calls from time to time, but at the same time it helps to know when someone is trying to call me as it makes a wavy line in the Computer when ringing if it close to a screen.

are you referring to the one that is a high pitch sound that sounds like an ringing in the ear? I know many kids have it so their teachers' or parents' don't think anything of it. It sounds like a Tv at a high pitch noised or a computer. It also is supposedly can be heard from younger people that older people can't hear it.

Why on earth would anyone buy a mobile phone, or any type of phone for that matter, with a silent ringtone? What is the point of it? I can put my phone onto vibrate, which is what I do when we have an appointment or something like that where I don't want it to ring. I would think this would cost a lot of money, and what a waste it would be as far as I am concerned.
Actually as I sit here typing I am just a little bit bemused about it and it definately has me wondering about the type of person who would buy such a thing. I have come to the conclusion that it could only be someone who has more money than sense. LOL

Yeah, I agree with you there. It's a totally stupid and silly thing and I can't understand why people can't use vibrate. It's silent! Well, for the most part. LOL

I have not heard of the silent ringtone and I agree why would anyone buy a ringtone that has no sound to it. I would not want to buy a silent ringtone. Sounds like a waste of money and I would want to hear something.

Well, now... it's not exactly silent. It supposedly emits a very high pitched sound that I'm sure would be VERY annoying. I just don't understand why people can't use vibrate. That's fairly silent. I know it makes SOME noise, but it's not as disturbing.

Wow, really? I think maybe they have the market for people that are lazy and want to switch ring tones but don't want their phone on vibrate, hahahaah! Thank you for the laugh because I think the idea is silly, and I wouldn't buy the ring tone at all.

Well I have to say I am sorry I didnt think of this, because it is so stupid, people would actually buy it. Know what I mean? Like Baysmummy said, someone she know bought it because they believed it to be true and that only kids could hear it. It doesnt matter if it doesnt work, it is the ULTIMATE seller. nothing can go wrong with this product, and I again, am just sorry I didnt think of it. Whoever came up with this product is making a fortune.
