This can go into a heated topic so please keep it civil! I am just wondering what everyone's perspective is on the topic. I personally think that everyone should have the same rights. It shouldn't matter what color you are, if you like the same sex, ect. You should never really judge someone on who they love or who they want to be with. I think everyone should be able to marry whoever they want.
Opinions??

I think people should be able to love whoever they fall in love with no matter thier gender, and if marrige is thir way of showing it then thats what they should be able to do

I believe in people's rights, and anything that lets people have their basic human rights, I'll go for. This is a tricky issue, however, as "militant" gays have an agenda as a group that they're pushing for. If it were a matter of civil rights between 2 individuals who decide to cohabit together and they want economic benefits out of that, I've no problem with. But to go into the whole marriage issue, which is a religious institution foremost, it's not right. Because to be granted that, they'll have to go against the rights of churches that don't believe in homosexuality. Now, the government is another issue as it's been granting cohabiting heterosexual individuals common-law status for decades. There's disagreement about this within the gay circle.

My religion doesn't say anything about homosexuality. So I think it is OK.
Why should they marry?People marry in order to have kids and to raise a family. They are not going to have babies(We don't have the technology just yet).
So do you think they should be permitted to adopt and raise children?

^That and many people marry without ever intending to add children to the picture.

I believe that everyone should have the same rights. Marriage is a way to make a commitment to some one you love. Everyone should be able to share that moment with the one they love even if it is different than what other people think is the norm. I don't want to be told who I can love or be with and I wouldn't do that to anyone else.

yes everyone should have their rights in respect to their sexuality and I believe that in few decades the world may be a lot more tolerant than it is right now and people would accept gays and lesbians in every field...
Just like racial discrimination existed in 1800's and now strong powerful laws protect people against racism similarly in times to come there would be laws and rights groups which would protect people against any sort of discrimination in the near future.
