why is a parent so strict

A parent is strict because they don't want you to get hurt, or injured severely. If they weren't strict you would be a wild animal.

True, but keeping an animal caged for too long is just as harmful.

@lilwonders456 Not sure about that. Last time I checked, being overly protective isn't against the law though it should be. At least in my opinion.

@cupkitties depends on how over protective they are. I will admit to being very overly protective but kids are very young.

I understand my parents so much better now that I am a parent. They are strict because they love you. They don't want anything bad to happen to you. They want you to grow up to be a successful happy person.
