A recent survey shows that nearly 60 percent of Chinese women would not consent to a 'naked marriage'.
'Naked marriage' is a term coined in the late 2000s to refer to the act of getting married without having first accumulated significant assets. To 'marry naked' means to not have a wedding, house, car or honeymoon.
The survey, conducted by Baihe.com, one of China's major dating websites, shows that about half of the men polled are willing to 'marry naked' and believe that love will pull them through, but only 13.2 percent of women said the same.
One 25-year-old woman named Xiaomei said flatly that naked marriage is "not acceptable, not realistic and impossible".
The view is also shared by some men, with 28.6 percent saying that they would not resort to a naked marriage either. One 28-year-old man named Xiaochen said, "As a man, I cannot accept it."
Do you accept a naked marriage?

A huge wedding isn't necessary to make a marriage, an apartment or condo works just as well as a house, we can walk or take the bus and the honey moon can be done any time. Money is a different story though. Its all fine and dandy to "let love pull you through" if we're talking about a couple who aren't raising children or don't plan to have any. That logic doesn't work for the rest of us.
