2nd Trimester Loss

I personally have not (i have never had children, nor been pregnant) but my mother experienced many of them. She had a very hard time with pregnancies, and lost at least 6 or 7 before she was able to have me, then a couple more between when i was born and my little brother came about five years after that. They were all lost very late into the second trimester, even early third trimester. From what i have learned she had what the dr.s termed an "incompetent cervix" it just wouldn't stay closed up to keep the baby in. eventually they even went as far as stitching it closed to try and help, but even that didn't always work. But she and my father really wanted to have children, and (obviously, as i am sitting here today) were successful. It was stressful, and there were some very sad times, but they made it through.
