Potty Training

Any suggestions on when and how to start? My oldest has been training since she was 14 months old and is now 2 years old this month...she mostly has it finished, with occasional accidents of wetting. My younger daughter just turned 1 year this month and the day after her birthday I tried holding her over the potty (she's not walking yet - but neither was her sister when she started) and she peed...however she is a preemie and the "specialists" keep telling me that I'm expecting too much of her by treating her like she's a year old. They want me to treat her like an 8 month old.

I guess the earlier you take a child to the potty, the faster they will learn, thats what my mom did for me & my sis and she thus used less diapers and prevented a lot of nappy rash as well.
