It just means that he is curious as to what it would be like to venture outside heteroville. Some people go through this phase for various reasons like (for example) developing a crush on someone of the same gender. They then get a little confused and start to question themselves. I think the best way for him to figure this out is to imagine himself in a physical relationship with another male. If the thought doesn't bother him, then maybe he's really bi.

i ventured outside heteroville a few times but never did go all the way up bournville boulevard!!
male birds were for me where it was at for a wee while!
since i posted my pal did request i help him out so i gave him a helping hand and dare i say some lip service where i whispered my words of comfort at his apparent excitement in his shell like!!
